Street shooting with the Yashica-D
street photographyPosted by Rense Mar 17, 2011 22:57:15Some time ago - in February - I bought an old Yashica-D, a Two Lens Reflex camera, which was produced from 1957 to 1973. These TLS's have a ground glass with a waist level finder, and since I love the use of the wlf on my Pentax 6x7, I thought I'd give this camera a try. And I must say: I fell in love with it! It's fun to use, it's great to see, and the quality it delivers is just A+++ (at least in my view).
The camera is used with 120 rollfilm, and the negatives are 6x6cm. So there are 12 in a roll. Here are two examples with Kodak TriX400, shot in Nijmegen two weeks ago.

i always love 6x6 pictures. Great DOF, square frame, waist level shooting etc... What's not to like? Some day i'll get me some 120rolfilm for my RolleiCord.
